Conversation circles in the spheres of social trauma

This article presents a psychoanalytic experience carried out through Conversation Circles with adolescents participating in a Social Project. Elements of trauma, violence, exclusion, and structural racism emerged from the collective narratives and creative productions. The shared construction of a fictional story revealed the repetition of violent scenes that refer to the real experiences of the participants, marked by inequalities and silencing. The struggle for survival from the adolescents amid precarious living and institutional conditions stands out, as well as the clinical function of testimony as listening and validation of suffering. The work of the analysts is permeated by ethical and affective issues, and highlights the importance of time for elaboration in order to listen to the unbearable. The return to the theme of racism allowed the emergence of silenced speeches, making a possible intervention that breaks the logic of reproduction and allows small fissures in the trauma.
